Evesham Nav-Cam 7500The Nav-Cam 7500 from Evesham Technology is a comprehensive unit offering the user all the features and benefits of a modern satellite navigation system. The Nav-Cam 7500 comes installed with the AA Navigator 2006 satnav software. The system offers door-to-door navigation with both and visual and audio guidance. The system uses the latest Navteq maps for the UK and Ireland and a full UK 7-digit postcode search facility is also included for locating a destination. In common with other systems, the Nav-Cam 7500 comes with a pre-installed Points of Interest (POI) database. This contains such destinations as petrol stations, hotels, theme parks, post offices etc. This is a great feature allowing the user to locate their nearest amenity from a large list at the touch of a few buttons. Low on fuel? No problem - simply click a few buttons and the Nav-Cam 7500 will direct you to the nearest petrol station. Controlling the system is straight-forward thanks to the touch-screen controls as well as using the buttons located on the front of the device. Also included with the system is a speed camera alert database containing details of Gatso, SPECS, Truvelo, Mobile, Temporary and Redlight speed camera locations in the UK. Both visual and audible speed camera alerts are provided by the unit in the UK to alert the driver to potentially dangerous roads ahead. Speed camera updates are also available free of charge for six months when the user registers their Nav-Cam 7500. Directions are spoken using both Male and Female voices and moving maps can be shown in either 2D or 3D. 3D navigation provides an overview of the route to come as well as listing road names to aid safe navigation. Should the user accidentally go off the pre-planned route the Nav-Cam 7500 will automatically calculate and plan a new optimised route based on it's current location. Optional Traffic Information - TMCThe system can also be enhanced by adding the optional TMC traffic information unit. This allows for real-time traffic information to be received by the unit and for the unit calculate a new route if it becomes aware of traffic delays ahead. TMC alerts contain information accidents, slow traffic, traffic jams and roadworks. Once the information has been received by the TMC unit, the AA Navigator software alerts the user to the problem ahead and the system can then calculate a newly-optimised route around the problem. This information is received continuously and only traffic information relating to the Nav-Cam 7500's current location is used. Both the Nav-Cam 7500 and optional TMC unit are portable and both systems can be transferred from one vehicle to another. This is a nice unit and represents good value for money. |
