Garmin
Garmin was founded in the USA in 1989, by Gary Burrell and Dr. Min Kao, PhD. The company has evolved into one of the leading companies in the production of satellite navigation and GPS (global positioning systems) units having sold in excess of 5 million units worldwide.
Having initially been involved in the design and construction of GPS systems for aviation use they have now expanded into other markets. They provide units dedicated to use in automotive, aviation, marine and general recreation.
Based in Kansas they also have offices in Europe and Asia. Over 2,500 dealers, distributors and corporate partners worldwide provide sales, service and support to the company's ever-growing customer base.
