Navman N40i

The N40i from Navman is another model in a new breed of satellite navigation systems which utilise digital photos to record favourite locations and destinations!

The N40i has a built-in 1.3 megapixel digital camera - take a photo of a favourite destination and the N40i will geo-tag the image. This stores the location of the image in the N40i's memory allowing the user to quickly navigate to their favourite destinations at the touch of a picture!

What's more, users can share and download pictures of other destinations. Destinations in the UK can also be entered using the full post-code facility. NavPix photo's for other destinations can be downloaded directly from the Navman site.

The N40i has a clear, bright 3.5 inch touch-screen and the system is controlled using the intuitive menu system.

The front of the unit has "fuel" and "park" buttons for those times when the user wants to quickly locate the nearest petrol station or public car-park.

Real-time traffic information can be received by teh N40 i using the optional T1 Traffic Pack. Planning to avoid hold-ups due to traffic accident and roadworks makes for a more enjoyable, less stressful journey.

As you would expect, the N40i comes with a built-in rechargeable battery offering upto 5 hours of use between charges (dependent on operating conditions). This allows the unit to be transferred between vehicles - a great benefit for say a family who wish to share a satnav unit.

The N40i is ready to use straight out of the pack and comes with Back-on-Track technology which automatically calculates a new route if the user should stray off the pre-planned route.

The GPS receiver is a SiRFStarIII Generation 2 receiver providing accurate navigation using the SmartST 2006 navigation software and the TeleAtlas 2006 mapping data. Turn-by-turn voice guided instructions are spoken and the maps can be viewed in both 2 and 3 dimensions.
