Navman iCN 520The iCN-520 from Navman represents value for money satellite navigation. The unit can be bought for approximately £250. Navman’s menu system is easy to use. You can select different on-screen views. 2D or 3D maps can be used to track your journey in real time. The iCN 520, driven by Navman SmartST™ software, is packed with superb features including 3D map view, voice guidance via the built-in speaker, postcode search, Back-on-Track™ rerouting, 'Avoid Areas', so you can avoid traffic 'hotspots' and an extensive Points-of-Interests (POI) database. A new feature to SmartST™ is 'Active Points of Interest'. This function allows you to set an alarm to tell you when a particular Point of Interest is approaching. For example, the system will tell you when you are approaching the nearest petrol station, hospital etc. SmartST™ provides ongoing journey information including Expected time of Arrival, Distance to go, Distance to go to next turn, Time to go and Miles/Km to go allowing the user to manage their journey effectively and ensure they are going to arrive at their chosen destination on time. The unit has a built in rechargeable battery and 12-channel parallel GPS receiver meaning that everything you need for personal navigation is in the one unit. The unit can be transferred from one vehicle to another for maximum flexibility. A windscreen mounting bracket comes as part of the package. This holds the unit in position and can be easily removed to transfer the unit to another vehicle or to remove the unit altogether if the vehicle is left unattended. |
