Navman iCN 530

The Navman iCN 530 is a new satellite navigation system from Navman which builds on the success of the previous model iCN 520. The system has a bright, clear 3.5-inch TFT touch-screen.

Route-planning is easy with the iCN 530 - full-postcode search is available as well as entering roads and towns to locate destinations. Full postcode search is useful for locating rural destinations.

The iCN530 comes pre-loaded with local mapping in flash memory so the system can be used straight out of the box. Additional mapping data for Europe is also included. 3D navigation comes as standard on the iCN 530. In addition, the user can choose 2D maps, "next turn" and "mini map" view. Voice-guidance is standard.

The iCN 530 is compatible with the optional T1 Traffic Information module which is available separately - receive information on traffic jams to ensure your journey goes smoothly.

Additional memory can be added to the ICN 530 in the form of SD memory cards - the iCN530 is compatible with SD memory cards from both SanDisk and Integral.

Locating amenities such as banks, hotels, hospitals, post offices, cash machines etc. is straight-forward with the Navman iCN 530 as the system comes pre-loaded with thousands of Points of Interest (POI's). The user can also add their own favourite POI's by connecting the system to a PC. Alerts can be set when you are approaching a local point of interest.

The software is intuitive and easy to use. Menu's are controlled using the touch-screen and multiple journeys can be planned in advance. The system comes with an automatic day/night view to avoid eye-strain for the user during the hours of darkness. Useful "Parking" and "Fuel" buttons are located on the front of the unit to allow the user to quickly locate teh nearest car-parking and petrol station.

In common with other satellite navigation units the iCN 530 provides on-going journey information. ETA (estimated time of arrival), distance remaining, etc information is available to the user.

The system will re-route the user if they should stray of track using Navman's Back-on-Track technology.

The system comes complete with a rechargeable battery for pre-journey planning and for transferring the unit between vehicles.

This is a good satnav system representing excellent value for money at this price-point.
