Sony NV-U50T (GPS)

The NVU50T from Sony is a fantastic personal satellite navigation GPS system. When you buy a Sony NV-U50T you will see that it has a stylish design and a very easy to use menu interface.

The NV-U50T is ready to go straight out of the box. The NVU50T has a 3.5 inch bright, clear colour screen and the system is operated using the intuitive, touch-screen menu system. The anti-glare coating ensures the screen can be viewed in bright sunlight.

The Sony can be used with an in-car adapter or the internal Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery is good for 4 hours use according to Sony. This will obviously depend on operating conditions.

Mapping is provided for both UK and Republic of Ireland as well as part of France - this mapping data is provided by NavTEQ.

Maps can be displayed in both 2D and 3D and voice-guidance instructions are given.

One of the main benefits of the Sony NV-U50T is the traffic information system. The Sony can receive traffic information via an RDS-TMC receiver cradle and information relating to hold-up's, roadworks, road accidents etc can be considered by the system when calculating the optimum route for the journey. An aerial cord for using the TMC module built-in to the NV-U50T is supplied.

The NV-U50T can be connected to a PC using a USB cable and the maps and software which are pre-installed on the unit can be backed up to the PC.

The unit comes with over 75,000 pre-installed Points of Interest covering such locations as hotels, petrol stations, restaurants etc. Locating a local amenity is no problem using the Sony NV-U50T.

The unit also comes with various languages built-in - it speaks English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Czech, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish, Greek and Flemish.
