TomTomTomTom finds its roots in Amsterdam, Holland in 1991. Peter-Frans Pauwels and Pieter Geelen who had recently graduated from Amsterdam University founded a company called Palmtop. They were later joined by Corrine Vigreux from Psion in 1994 and in 2001 former CEO of Psion, Harold Goddijn became the fourth partner and the business was renamed TomTom. Since then the business had gone from strength to strength and TomTom now have offices in Amsterdam, London, Massachusetts and Taiwan. In 2004, TomTom accounted for approximately 52% of the integrated personal navigation device sales in Europe and approximately 30% of the world wide sales market (source: Canalys research).
