TomTom ONE v3 - Great Britain

The new TomTom ONE version 3 builds on the success of it's predecesors. It comes with all the features we know and love from TomTom who are the current market-leaders in satnav systems in the UK.

The unit is ready to go straight out of the box - no need to link it to a PC to install maps or software. The unit comes with a lithium-ion battery installed allowing the unit to be programmed prior to commencing your journey or to allow ease of transfer from one vehicle to another.

The TomTom ONE v3 comes with a highly-sensitve GPS chipset allowing it to acquire and hold the satellite positions quicker - meaning you can start on your journey sooner.

The version 3 comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen allwoing for a bright, clear image at all times. Entering locations is simple using the touch-screen menu system for which TomTom have become famous.

Entering destinations is simple using the address or full postcode. Directions are shown on the screen and clear, spoken instructions are given well in advance of each manouevre.

The TomTom ONE version 3 comes pre-loaded with all the latest mapping data. Utlising the new TomTom MapShare facility changes to maps can be downloaded daily by hooking the unit upto an internet connected PC using the TomTom HOME software supplied.

This functionality also allows you to share maps with other users. The system comes with a large database of Points of Interest, such as petrol stations - simply tell the TomTom which amenity you are looking for an it will find the nearest one and navigate you to it quickly and simply.

Making any journey enjoyable is of paramount importance to the driver and by connecting the TomTom ONE to a TMC Traffic Information Receiver real-time traffic information can be received. Any hold-ups aor delays ahead can be seen in advance allowing an alternative route to be planned and driven. No one likes to be stuck in traffic - especially on an important journey.

If the user should accidentally stray off route, or be forced to take a different route eg. blocked road ahead, then the TomTom ONE will quickly calculate a newly optimised route to your chosen destination taking account of your current location. This is a great time saving feature - no need to worry about planning the route or pressing buttons on teh satnav unit - just drive up a different road and the system will automatically calculate a new route for you.
