TomTom ONE XL Europe

Hot on the tail of the TomTom ONE version 2 range which was released in 2006 comes the new for 2007 TomTom ONE XL - available in both the Europe and GB models.

The European version of the new TomTom ONE XL comes with street-level mapping for most of western Europe stored on 1GB of internal memory. The ONE XL Europe is ready to use straight out of the box.

As you would expect for a satnav system offering European mapping coverage, the user can choose any of 36 European languages and 55 different voices for spoken route directions.

The ONE XL runs the QuickGPSfix software - allowing the user to determine their position quicker than ever before.

The system comes with a large Points of Interest database - Points of Interest are such locations as hotels, hospitals, post offices, cinema's etc. If you need to find a cash machine, a petrol station, or a myriad of other locations then closest one can be located with the push of a few menu buttons.

Once a Point of Interest has been chosen, the TomTom ONE XL will navigate you, quickly and directly, to it.

In common with other systems in the TomTom range, the ONE XL has all the great features associated with the TomTom range - choice of route calculations, automatic route recalculation and full 7-digit postcode look-up in the UK.

The system can be used in conjunction with a PC using the TomTom HOME software which is included. This essential piece of software allows maps to be installed, other TomTom services to be bought and installed, receive free traffic alerts on the PC, plan routes in advance.

Many users find the additional functionality of the TomTom PLUS services to be indispensible. This is a subscription service which allows for real-time weather and traffic information to be received by the TomTom ONE XL Europe. In addition to which the user can also download detailed city maps, additional Points of Interest, scenic routes, additional voices and much, much more.

The TomTom ONE XL allows the user to input a number a destination or "waypoints" and plan a number of journeys in advance - ideal for business people with a number of calls to make as well as tourists' wishing to visit a variety of different places of interest on a day out.

The "home" function allows the unit to navigate back to either a home or office location without having to input the destination each time.
