TomTom ONE XL GB

The new TomTom ONE XL GB comes from the TomTom stable of satnav systems. Released in 2007 it builds on the fantastic reputation of the TomTom ONE version 2 range released last year.

The TomTom ONE XL Great Britain comes with street-level mapping for the UK, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland stored on a SD digital memory card.

Also included in the pack is a suction-cup windscreen mount, cigarette-lighter charger for in-car power, a USB cable for connecting to a PC (TomTom ONE XL Great Britain can be used straight out of the box so owning a PC is not vital), an installation CD for TomTom HOME software and documentation.

The fist thing you notice is the screen size - a new 4.3-inch colour screen! Also released in 2007 is the TomTom ONE XL Europe. The addition of the new screen makes the unit easier to view thereby making driving a more pleasant experience.

The TomTom ONE XL Great Britain comes with a pre-installed UK safety camera database - check with the merchants site before making your purhase to check what is included in your package. The safety camera database alerts the driver to upcoming danger areas to ensure the driver is paying maximum attention to the roda ahead - particularly important outside schools and other built-up areas.

In common with other TomTom satnav systems, the ONE XL GB comes with full 7-digit postcode look-up for UK addresses. Simply enter the full postcode and property number and the ONE XL will guide you effortlessly to your chosen destination.

Knowing the route from A to B is ok - but when coupled with real-time traffic information - driving has never been less stressfull. TomTom TRAFFIC is a subscription service which allows real-time traffic information to be received by the TomTom ONE XL GB.

In addition to hold-ups and congestion ahead, TomTom TRAFFIC can also provide details of hazardous conditions ahead - eg, snow, ice, fog and so on - which may affect your journey.

With this real-time traffic information to hand the journey becomes so much easier as alternative routes can be considered to avoid hold-ups and ensure prompt arrival at the user's chosen destination.

The TomTom ONE XL GB can also be connected to a suitable mobile phone with Bluetooth and GPRS capabilities (available separately) for connection to the TomTom PLUS subscription service:-
