TomTom GO 910The TomTom GO 910 is the new flagship satellite navigation unit from TomTom. The new GO 910 comes with a high quality, extra wide, 4 inch LCD touch screen, which is a world’s first in portable navigation systems, making the new TomTom GO range even easier to use. You will notice that the screen is "wider" than on other satnav systems. It is one of the first satnav's to offer almost true 16:9 resolution to make the system easy on the eyes by showing the information in a more "user-friendly" way. Greatly improved GPS performance and hundreds of features and software improvements have been incorporated into the design of the new TomTom GO series. The new GO range comes complete with TomTom HOME. TomTom HOME is a new software application which enables users to easily manage, download and store content from their computer. Every new TomTom GO comes with the HOME Dock, enabling users to connect to TomTom HOME through their computer. Transfering data and maps to the GO 910 with the HOME dock is quick and straightforward. The renowned hands-free calling functionality in conjunction with your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone has improved further and the pre-installed Safety Camera database is now available across the range, making it even easier and safer to navigate to your destination. The TomTom GO 910 is the first ever portable navigation device featuring multi-continental map coverage including the whole of Europe, the USA and Canada. These maps are installed on the GO 910's 20GB internal hard-drive. The installation of the maps, points of interest and software leaves 12GB free for the user to store MP3's, digital photos etc.... The GO 910 also has a range of extras such as a fully integrated MP3 player for playing audiobooks, music and podcasts (affectionately known as the TomTom Digital Jukebox). The music can be played either through the existing in-car stereo or through the GO 910's own built-in speaker system. New to the 910 is the text-to-speech functionality - instead of saying "turn next left" the unit will now say "turn into Manor Road". One of the main problems with the previous generation of satnav systems was that the user occasionally had to look at the screen to work out which road to turn into - not a particularly safe way to navigate in busy road conditions. Now with text-to-speech you simply need to keep your eyes open for the road name - a safer way to drive. The user can also connect Bluetooth devices (sold separately) to their TomTom GO 910 for ease of use. TomTom PLUS services are also available as an add-on. A one-month free trial is included with each system. These provide the unit with real-time traffic and weather information allowing the user to plan their journey in a more efficient way. This system now sets that standard for all future systems to try and achieve and demonstrates the technological advances that have been made in satnav systems since they were first introduced.
