TomTom GO 300

The TomTom GO 300 is an entry-level satnav system. The TomTom brand is very popular in the UK and is stocked by most online and high-street retailers. Retailing around the £250 mark, this is ideal for the business and leisure user alike.

It is easy to install and use – there is no need to link it to a personal computer as the maps come pre-loaded SD memory cards. The unit comes with a mounting kit to attach the unit to the windscreen or dashboard. The touch-sensitive screen allows you to navigate the menu system. There are various ways to input your destination, including postcode. Routes can be planned in a variety of ways – shortest, fastest and avoiding toll-roads and congested areas.

The system allows you to enter multiple waypoints should you need to make multiple stops on your journey. The unit will then take you from destination to the next.

The system offers 3D map views and voice-prompted navigation. Maps are stored on SD memory cards. It is possible to buy larger cards offering more storage for maps and points of interest.

As is standard with most other satellite navigation units, the 300 comes pre-loaded with thousands of Points of Interest (POI’s) and you can also add your own favourite destinations - home, office, etc making navigation even easier with fewer buttons to press to navigate to your destination.

The system contains more than 30 voice-prompt languages. The integrated GPS antenna and rechargeable battery mean that this unit is truly portable and can be moved from one car to another.

The TomTom GO 300 features all the great navigation of the award-winning TomTom GO software at an accessible price. It offers the latest street-level maps which include details for each town and city. Additionally, it is ready for TomTom PLUS services through a suitable Bluetooth enabled mobile phone.
