TomTom ONE version 1

The TomTom ONE is an affordable satellite navigation unit. As a first step in-car navigation you can't do much better than this for the price.

Version 2 of the TomTom ONE is now available and comes with two mapping options - TomTom ONE Great Britain and TomTom ONE Europe.

The unit is powered by the TomTom version 5 software engine. The unit has a slimmer design than the "GO" series also available from TomTom.

The unit can be operated using the internal battery but an in-car cigarete lighter adapter is also included in the box.

The software comes pre-installed on the memory card - it is simply a case of taking the unit out of the box, plugging it in and off you go!

The unit is controlled using touch-screen menus and the software provides voice-guided turn-by-turn directions. The user can choose between 2D and 3D map views. You can plan your journey before you leave and even view the route prior to commencing your journey. You can calculate the quickest or shortest (in terms of distance) route or a route to avoid a toll road, with multiple stops en-route if you need to.

You can program the unit to find a destination using addresses or postcodes (only available in the UK and the Netherlands) and the unit comes with thousands of Points of Interest already pre-loaded.

The menus are easy to use - an extensive guided tour of the unit is also programmed.
